Professor Marcus Feingold, M.D., was born in Botoshani, Rumania, July 17, 1871. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States, teaching ophthalmology for many years at Tulane University School of Medicine during the early twentieth century. His wife, Bertha, and daughter, Rose, are also featured in his 1925 passport photo. Dr. Feingold died in New Orleans, Dec. 26, 1925. From the description of Marcus Feingold papers, 1908-1937. Rudolph Matas was a prominent New Orleans, La., surgeon. During his career, he served as director of the NEW ORLEANS MEDICAL AND SURGICAL JOURNAL and Professor of Surgery at Tulane University, a post he held until he became Emeritus Professor in 1927. He also was a surgeon and consultant at Charity Hospital, Touro Infirmary, and the Ear, Eye, Nose and Throat Hospital of New Orleans.
